  1. Hi Lindsay,
Was wondering if you remembered the movie, “The Boy In The Plastic Bubble”, starring John Travolta and Glynnis O’Connor. Was wondering if you could find the location that movie was filmed at? The two main characters lived close by and their houses were on a lake. It is beautiful. Thanks!

  2. Hey Lindsay!
    I absolutely adore you blog!!!!
Was wondering if you could stalk any of the Beverly Park Homes!!!
    Let me know!!!!
    YOU are afterall the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hi Lindsay!

You are the best! You’re two for two! Here’s my latest challenge: For years, I’ve been wondering where the ‘Three’s Company’ apartment house is located, as well as the Cheviot Hills condo seen at the end of the opening of ‘The Ropers’: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hwbs68w_hI

In the 1998 book about the show, “Come and Knock on Our Door,” author Chris Mann writes on page 227:

“Want to go and knock on the door of the former home of Jack, Janet, and Chrissy? Good luck…Their modest, Spanish-style, stucco apartment building…was nestled about three blocks from the beach (and presumably near the pier) in Santa Monica, California. But a specific address is never mentioned on the show…

“Vague, inconsistent clues to the building’s whereabouts are given in a few episodes, however. In ‘Good Old Reliable Janet,’ a nude-beach demonstrator who has escaped a police raid uses Mr. Roper’s phone to call someone to pick her up. She says she’s at the corner of Ocean and DeMorra. In year seven, Jack’s Bistro opens at 834 Ocean Vista Avenue, presumably in walking distance of the apartment. Does that mean the trio live somewhere on Ocean Vista? Only in TV land: Ocean Vista doesn’t exist, although Ocean Avenue does.

“Confused? Wait–the misunderstanding thickens. In ‘The New Landlord,’ Janet is seen holding a sign advertising a garage sale the trio arranges to get rid of some of the Roper’s old belongings. The address on the sign reads 3916 East 14th Street. But that address, too, is nonexistent, because Fourteenth Street runs north and south. Even if that’s supposedly the ‘real’ location within the show, where do Ocean and DeMorra (another nonexistent street) come in?”

I’m counting on you to work your magic!

  4. Hi Lindsay, I have a challenge for you. Jason Priestley just moved, and I am looking for photographs of his new home.
it’s a good challenge for you? thank you.

  5. I didnt see many chicago filming locations. I would recommend if you ever get a chance, head that way for a week or so. If you do hit me up for some addresses for filming locations for favorites such as Groundhogs Day, Home Alone and other awesome movies. Have always wanted to start a similar blog but I live in AZ now so not much here.

    1. Groundhog day is an easy one. Just go to Woodstock, IL which is where the film was shot. Anyone in down can tell you where the Bed and Breakfast is (at the dead end of Calhoun Street). The center square of town is easy to find and although the Tip Top isn’t there anymore, the restaurant is. There is a plaque on the sidewalk near there that show where Phil Conner stepped into the puddle. The ‘hotel’ is about three doors down from the Starbucks. The Gazebo in the middle of the square is not the one used for the movie. They build another larger one. It basically looks just like the movie!

  6. also if it wouldnt be too much what restaurant do they film the “breadsticks” scene at in Glee ive always wanted to eat there πŸ™‚ thanks linds!! btw you are the real deal with what you do!

  7. where is snoop doggs house? from what i heard he lived in the gated community in signal hill by long beach, and his kids went to long beach polytechnic with my little sister but i wanted to know if he in fact lived there his house was briefly featured in his T.V show but the location as of late is merely a rumor.

  8. Hi, Lindsay,
My daughter wants to find the neighborhood where Fred the Movie was shot. There are scenes around Hansen Dam out near San Fernando. Perhaps Tujunga? Nothing on the internet.

  9. Hey Lindsay!
So this is a really tough one and it may be impossible to find, but, I was watching season one of BH 90210 and I saw something that I am curious about. In the opening (the one that starts with the Beverly Hills Hotel), one of the first images is the body of a girl in a bikini. Was any information ever published about the girl? Maybe it was Jennie Garth? Sorry if this is crazy! Thank you so much!

  10. Hey !
do you know where , in That thing you do, Patterson Appliances building was? or where Liv Tyler runs down the street when she hears “TTyoudo” on the radio for the first time?
    Thanks Linds!
    Eileen

    1. Another easy one. It was shot in the center of town in Orange, CA. which was transformed into Erie, PA. The address of Pattersons is 129 N Glassell St , Orange, CA. The Walgreens was the pinkish building just next to the old theatre across the street.

  11. where is the trailer parked “up there in them hills” in the movie street kings and also the house that all the cash is stashed in

  12. Hi Lindsay!

You did such a great job stalking the Three Sisters House from “Knots Landing” last year that I have another challenge for you!

With all the media attention last year regarding Paris Hilton’s aunt, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kim Richards, I wonder if you can locate the house used in Richards’ 1970-71 series, “Nanny and the Professor.”

Boomers such as myself remember Richards for several of 17 Disney movies, including the “Witch Mountain” films, but for many of us, her lasting fame comes from her two years as as Prudence Everett in the television series “Nanny and the Professor,” with costars Richard Long, Juliet Mills, David Doremus and Trent Lehman. The show ran on ABC from January 21, 1970 through December 27, 1971 and starred Mills as a prescient English nanny who cares for Professor Harold Everett, a widower (this was the early 70s), and his children Hal, Butch, and Prudence (Richards).

The family lived at 10327 Oak Street, presumably in Los Angeles. The house number appears on the house itself and the curb in several shots in different episodes. Part of the house’s facade was obviously built on a soundstage (the show was shot on Fox’s Stage 3), but establishing shots show what appears to be a real house, numbered 10327. Hulu has almost all of the episodes and you can see the house at the top of the sixth episode of the first season, titled “Spring, Sweet Spring.”

I hope you can find the house where, as the theme song says, “so many silly things keep happening. What is this magic thing about Nanny, is it love….or is it magic?”

  13. Hi I was wondering if you’ve heard of a place in Whittier called Fred C. Nelles School for boys. The place closed in 2004 and since then has been used a lot for filming, I’m not sure what films or shows they use it for and would like to see if you know. thanks a lot

    1. According to wiki, the movies Blow (2001) and Red State (2011) were filmed there, as well as the TV series Prison Break (2005) and Moonlight (2007).
