  • The Romanesque Villa Apartments – Marilyn Monroe’s Former Home

    P1040275-001

While doing research on the Harper House from Scream 3, which I blogged about in mid-April, I came across some information about an apartment complex – located on the very same street and designed by the very same architect – where my girl Miss Marilyn Monroe once lived.  I was, of course, beyond ecstatic to learn about a previously-unknown Marilyn location and immediately added the building, which is named Romanesque Villa or Romanesque Villa Apartments, to my “To-Stalk” list.  It was not until I dragged the Grim Cheaper out there just a few days later that I realized the complex is located directly across the street from Villa Primavera, the In a Lonely Place apartment building that I stalked last October.  How I had been standing less than 20 feet away from Marilyn’s former home at the time without even realizing it is absolutely beyond me!  The GC keeps saying that all of the blonde hair dye I use is starting to affect my brain and, in cases like this, I can’t really argue with him.  Winking smile On a side note – I am switching things up a bit today as the GC recently suggested that I post the descriptions of my photographs above the actual photographs themselves.  And, even though he is almost never right Winking smile, I thought I would try out his idea for a few days.  Let me know what you think.  And now, on with the post!

    [ad]

The Romanesque Villa Apartments were originally constructed in 1928 and were commissioned by Michael and Isaac Mann. As I mentioned above, the garden courtyard complex was designed by none other than Leland Bryant, the very same architect who also gave us the Harper House and the Sunset Tower Hotel.

    P1040286-001

As you can see below, the architectural detailing of the Spanish Colonial Revival/Churrigueresque-style building is nothing short of spectacular. I literally could not take my eyes off the place while I was there.

    P1040280-001

    P1040282-001

And while the exterior of Romanesque Villa does not bear much of a resemblance to that of the Harper House, the interiors of the buildings’ actual units are almost identical, especially the bathroom areas.

    ScreenShot4621

    ScreenShot4622

You can watch a video tour of one of the Romanesque Villa apartments (in which the building is incorrectly identified as the “Harper House”) from the West Hollywood Patch website by clicking below. As you can see, the bathroom is pretty much an exact match to Cotton Weary (Liev Schreiber) and Christine Hamilton’s (Kelly Rutherford) bathroom in Scream 3.

Marilyn Monroe reportedly lived off and on at Romanesque Villa Apartments from 1950 to 1951.  The starlet had previously been residing with her agent/purported lover Johnny Hyde, but when he passed away on December 18th, 1950, she decided to move in with her beloved acting coach Natasha Lytess, whom she had been studying with since the filming of Columbia Pictures’ Ladies of the Chorus in 1948.  There seems to be a bit of confusion over Marilyn and Natasha’s exact apartment number, though.  You can see a photograph on the icollector.com website here of a check written by MM on December 23, 1950 in which she lists her address as “1301 N. Harper Ave.”  That same address is written on a photograph release form that Marilyn signed on April 26th, 1949, which you can take a look at here.  But the very cool Marilyn and the Camera website has a check signed by the actress in which she notes her address as 1309 N. Harper Avenue.  Despite the many conflicting reports, most written in the actress’ own hand, the majority of publications agree that MM lived in Unit 1309, which is pictured below.  Legend has it that Marilyn, fraught with despair over Johnny Hyde’s death, also attempted suicide during her tenure at Romanesque Villa.

    P1040622-001

According to my buddy E.J. over at The Movieland Directory website, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Anita Stewart, and John Welch also all lived at Romanesque Villa at one time or another.  And fave book Hollywood: The Movie Lover’s Guide states that upon first arriving in Hollywood, actress Marlene Dietrich moved into an apartment at the Villa thanks to some advice from the man who had discovered her, director Josef von Sternberg, who also lived on the premises with his then wife, Riza Royce.  Rumor has it that an affair between Marlene and Josef heated up shortly thereafter.  Josef eventually filed for divorce from Riza and she, in turn, slapped Marlene with two lawsuits, one for alienation of her husband’s affections and the other for libel.  Both lawsuits were later dropped and Josef and Marlene went on to collaborate in a total of seven films.

Stalk It: The Romanesque Villa Apartments, where Marilyn Monroe once lived, are located at 1301-1309 North Harper Avenue in West Hollywood.  Villa Primavera, the In a Lonely Place apartment building, is located directly across the street at 1300-1308 North Harper AvenueThe Harper House, from Scream 3, is located just up the street at 1334-1336 North Harper Avenue.  Pink Taco, aka the former site of the Roxbury, is also located just up the street at 8225 West Sunset Boulevard.  And Pinches Tacos, from the “It’s On Bitch” episode of The Hills, is located just around the corner at 8200 West Sunset Boulevard.

  • The Hancock Park House Where Prince William and Kate Middleton Stayed In July 2011

    P1040141-001

While Mike, from MovieShotsLA, and I were out stalking two Thursdays ago, I asked him to take me by the Hancock Park-area mansion where Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (the former Miss Kate Middleton), stayed while visiting Los Angeles last July. Mike had found the property a few months prior thanks to fave website CurbedLA, which had done extensive reporting on the Mediterranean-style pad shortly before the royal couple touched down in La La Land on July 9th, and had stalked it shortly thereafter. Not surprisingly, I had been absolutely drooling over the pictures he snapped while there and was dying to do some stalking of the place myself. So, on our way out to Franck’s wedding coordinator shop from Father of the Bride, which I blogged about last Thursday, we took a detour to the William and Kate house.

    [ad]

    P1040136-001 P1040139-001

William and Kate’s holiday homestead is known as the Erle M. Leaf House and it was designed in 1928 by Wallace Neff, the prolific Southern California architect who also designed the estate where Amanda lived in The Holiday, Villa del Sol d’Oro from Passport to Paris, and Viola’s mansion from Monster-in-Law, as well as countless other famous movie abodes. According to Zillow, the Leaf House, which sits on almost half an acre of land, measures 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and 7,247 square feet. But there seems to be a discrepancy somewhere because the Ronald Chang Architecture team, who did a recent remodel of the dwelling, states on their website that, after the latest add-on, the residence measures 10,000 square feet. Either way, the property is quite gorgeous, but far more average than I had expected it to be.

    P1040138-001 P1040140-001

It is amazing to me that the heir to the British throne and his new wife stayed in such a “normal” home while visiting L.A. Yes, it is a beautiful estate and quite large, but there is no gate, no wall, no tall hedges to block it from public view. Granted, the entire street and surrounding area was barricaded by police officers and private security during the Duke and Duchess’ three-day stay, but still. I would have expected a much more private and exclusive abode to have housed them. Being that the British government purchased the property in 1957 to be used as a residence for the British Consuls-General, though, I guess it makes sense. You can check out some fabulous interior photographs of the Erle M. Leaf House and its recent remodel here. As you can see, the “before” kitchen was pretty atrocious, but the new one is absolutely to-die-for.

    ScreenShot4496

On a random side-note – My girl Miss Pinky Lovejoy, of the Thinking Pink blog, did some stalking of The Lucky One premiere this past Monday evening and who should she run into while there, but the love of my life, Matt Lanter (sigh!). Pinky asked Matt for a photo, to which he happily obliged (because he’s the sweetest!), and she then mentioned my rooftop encounter with him last April. Well, in an amazing twist, Matt said he REMEMBERED ME! UM, HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE???? DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pinky then reiterated how much I loved him, that he is one of my “Top Three”, that I want to bear his children (just kidding about that last part Winking smile) and he said to tell me “Hi”! Um, HI, MATT! When Pinky texted me the news shortly thereafter I just about hyperventilated from excitement and am still pretty much glowing over the whole thing! Best. Night. Ever.

Big THANK YOU to Mike, from MovieShotsLA, for taking me to this location! Smile

  • Spring Cleaning!

    She-Cleans-8

I hate to do this again, but . . . my parents came to town this past weekend to celebrate Easter with the Grim Cheaper and me and, in preparation for their visit, I spent all day Friday cleaning and tidying up our apartment.  As the GC loves to tell anyone who will listen (and as you can see above), I am SO not a domestic goddess and would have much rather been working on my blog, but sadly I did not have time to do so.  I promise to be back tomorrow, though, with a whole new location.  I hope all of my fellow stalkers had a fabulous Easter!

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

  • Day Off!

Because I spent all day yesterday out and about stalking with Mike, from MovieShotsLA, I did not have time to write a new post for today.  But I do promise to be back tomorrow with a whole new location.  In the meantime, I hope all of my fellow stalkers have a fabulous weekend!   Smile

  • Fig & Olive Restaurant from the 2012 “Matthew’s Day Off” Honda CR-V Super Bowl Commercial

    P1040092

Ever since I first saw the ingenious “Matthew’s Day Off” Honda CR-V commercial that premiered during the 2012 Super Bowl on February 6th, I have been absolutely itching to track down the restaurant that appeared in it.  Especially since, a few weeks beforehand, I had stalked and blogged about L’Orangerie, the eatery that stood in for Chez Quis in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the 1986 movie upon which the two-minute-and-twenty-five-second television spot was based.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off Super Bowl Commercial

Thankfully, this location was a fairly easy find.  While watching the ad, I had spotted the name “Chez Neuz” painted on the awning of the restaurant – “neuf” being French for “nine”, which is, of course, the number of times Ferris Bueller was absent from school in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. (“Nine times?”  “Nine times!” “I don’t remember him being absent nine times!”  LOL)  And while the establishment’s tongue-in-cheek moniker was obviously a fake, I figured that the other words – “kitchen” and the partially hidden “–ing bar”, which I guessed to be “tasting bar” – that were also visible on the awning were most likely real.  And I was right!

    P1040091 P1040095

    P1040094 P1040093

Inputting the words “restaurant”, “Los Angeles”, “kitchen”, and “tasting bar” into Google led me to a website for a fairly new eatery in West Hollywood named Fig & Olive.  One quick scan of the photographs pictured there proved that it was a match to what had appeared in “Matthew’s Day Off”.  Yay!  So I dragged the Grim Cheaper right on out there to stalk the place this past weekend.  Fig & Olive, which was originally founded on the East Coast and has several outposts in Manhattan, first opened its West Hollywood location in March 2011 in an 8,000-square-foot, two-story venue on the corner of Melrose Place and La Cienega Boulevard.  The bright and airy establishment features a 50-foot tasting bar, two patios, a lounge area and a Mediterranean-inspired menu that is brought to life each night by Executive Chef Pascal Lorange, a man who was once the personal chef to both singer Julio Iglesias and former President Bill Clinton.

    P1040098 P1040099

    P1040101 P1040102

Thanks to its trendy location, fab menu and chic interior, Fig & Olive became an overnight sensation and has served the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Robert Downey, Jr., Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux, Jason Bateman, Elizabeth Banks, Hilary Duff, Rebecca Gayheart, Julianne Hough, Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Kimmel, John Stamos, Bob Saget, Ryan Gosling, Lea Michele, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Reese Witherspoon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Connolly, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Ryan Phillipe, Kellie Martin, Mila Kunis, Molly Sims, Zac Efron, Drew Barrymore and even President Obama.  Oh, and me and the GC Winking smile, who both absolutely fell in love with the place.  Before we arrived there, I had been convinced that Fig & Olive would be extremely snooty, but I am very happy to report that that was not at all the case.  The entire staff was BEYOND nice, especially our bartender who loved the fact that we were only dining there because of the “Matthew’s Day Off” commercial.  Smile

    P1040104

Because the establishment is on the pricy side, the GC and I opted to only grab drinks and a cheese plate appetizer, all of which were uh-ma-zing!  I cannot wait to go back to there for a full meal sometime (ear muffs, GC!).

    [ad]

    ScreenShot4244 ScreenShot4245

Fig & Olive was featured three times in the “Matthew’s Day Off” commercial, which was directed by The Hangover’s Todd Phillips.  The tasting bar area first popped up in the scene in which Walter Linder, Matthew’s agent, is shown eating lunch in front of a TV that just so happens to be airing the parade in which Matthew is singing.

    P1040100 P1040105

Fig & Olive’s tasting bar is pictured above and, as you can see, the television set and the wall it was affixed to are not actually there in real life.

    ScreenShot4246 ScreenShot4247

    ScreenShot4248 ScreenShot4249

The exterior of Fig & Olive then appeared as Chez Neuf, the restaurant where Matthew dropped off his Honda CR-V with a valet, who then, of course, made off with it.

    ScreenShot4250 ScreenShot4251

And the restaurant lastly popped at the very end of the commercial, in the scene in which Matthew reenacted his famous “You’re still here?” bit from Ferris Bueller.

    P1040103

Our bartender informed us that an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was also shot at Fig & Olive, but I scanned through both Season 1 and Season 2 of the series earlier today and did not spot it anywhere, so I am guessing that the scene wound up on the cutting room floor.

“Matthew’s Day Off” Super Bowl Commercial Filmed at Fig & Olive in West Hollywood

You can watch the 2012 “Matthew’s Day Off” Honda CR-V Super Bowl commercial by clicking above.  Apparently, the team at RPA, the advertising agency that created the ad, hid over two dozen references to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in the spot – some obvious, some more subtle.

Walter Linder - Matthew's Day Off commercial

Here are a few that I spotted (and I swear I could sit here all day doing this!) – 1. In the commercial, Matthew’s agent is named “Walter Linder”.

Walter Linder - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

That same name was listed in the Chez Quis reservation book directly above “Abe Froman” in the movie’s iconic restaurant scene.

Grace - Matthew's Day Off commercial

    2. The woman that Matthew spoke with using his CR-V’s built-in Bluetooth in the commercial was named “Grace” – a nod to Ed Rooney’s dimwitted secretary Grace, who was played to perfection by Edie McClurg in the film.

Matthew's Day Off commercial - oboe player

    3. In the scene in which Walter Linder spots Matthew driving, a man is pictured behind Walter playing a clarinet.

    ScreenShot4260

Ferris also played a clarinet in the 1986 film.

    ScreenShot4262

The trench coat that the clarinet player is wearing in the commercial is also a reference to the outfit Ferris wore when he picked up his girlfriend, Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara).

    ScreenShot4255

    4. In the commercial, the CR-V license plate reads “SOCHOIC”, which is a nod to Ferris’ line, “I must admit, I love driving it.  It is so choice.” about the pilfered Ferrari.  If you are not into searching for the ad’s many Ferris Bueller’s Day Off references, or “Easter eggs” as they are called, yourself, Entertainment Weekly scored a complete list of them from RPA, which you can check out here.

Chez Quis phone number - Ferrsi Bueller's Day Off

On a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off side-note – while making screen captures for today’s post, I happened to notice the number 652-9770 (as well as several other variations of it) on the phone Ferris used to call the police while at Chez Quis.  On a hunch, I typed that number into Google, adding an area code of 310, and, sure enough, (310)652-9770 was the actual former number of the now-shuttered L’Orangerie restaurant where that scene was filmed.  Oh, if only I had spotted those digits sooner, I not only would have bypassed countless hours of searching, but I also might have been able to stalk the place while it was still in business.  Ah well!  Hindsight is 20/20, as they say.

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

  • The Former Site of the Roxbury

    P1030948

In honor of my girl Shannen Doherty’s new reality series, Shannen Says, which premieres next Tuesday (can’t wait!), I thought I would blog today about one of the actress’ famed hangouts from her Beverly Hills, 90210 days – the Roxbury in West Hollywood.  Back when I was a teenager and knee-deep in my 90210 obsession (ah, who am I kidding, I am still knee-deep in it!), I clamored for any and all magazines featuring the show’s stars.  I would practically drool while reading of their various comings and goings, especially Shannen’s, and as her name became more and more synonymous with the Roxbury, the legendary Sunset Strip club became seared into my memory.  I, sadly, never had the opportunity to stalk the place, though, as it closed its doors in 1997, long before I moved to Los Angeles.  But back in 2002, after an acting class, one of my friends invited me to grab some drinks at a hot spot named Miyagi’s.  Not being a nightclub kinda girl myself, I turned down the offer, to which my friend said, “Are you sure?  Miyagi’s used to be the Roxbury, where your girl Shannen Doherty hung out.”  Well, believe you me, once I heard those words, I was in!  In true Hollywood fashion, not even Miyagi’s stood the test of time, though, and, as you can see above, today the location houses a newly-opened Pink Taco.  But I figured since the site was hallowed ground for any 90210 fan, it was definitely blog-worthy.

    [ad]

    P1030947 P1030949

    P1030950 P1030951

The building that stands at the corner of Roxbury Road and West Sunset Boulevard has long been the darling of the Sunset Strip.  The spot’s first incarnation was a celebrity supper club named The Players, or The Players Club, that was founded in 1940 by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Preston Sturges.  During its Players days, such luminaries as Humphrey Bogart, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Dorothy Parker, Barbara Stanwyck, Joel McCrea, Rudy Vallee, William Faulkner, George S. Kaufman, Charlie Chaplin, Orson Welles and Howard Hughes all hung out there.  Despite its popularity, the club started to falter by the early 1950s, though, most likely due to the fact that Preston often closed the three-story, 12,000-square-foot venue, which included a barber shop, a hydraulic stage, a burger stand, and three different restaurants, in order to host private parties for his famous friends.  In 1953, his creditors sold the place to new owners who opened a Japanese restaurant named Imperial Gardens on the site.  That eatery also proved to be quite popular with the Hollywood set and catered to such stars as John Savage, James Woods, John Travolta, and Olivia Newton-John.

    ScreenShot4242

In 1989, after an amazing 36-year run, Imperial Gardens closed and partners Brad Johnson and Elie Samaha purchased the establishment and transformed it into the Roxbury. Virtually overnight, the club became the place to see and be seen in Hollywood.  The stars of 90210 flocked there like moths to a flame and were spotted partying on the premises virtually every night.  Oh, what I wouldn’t have given to have been 21 and living in Hollywood at that time.  Winking smile Besides Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green, Shannen Doherty and Mark Wahlberg (pictured at the club in a November 1992 People Magazine article), other celebrities that spent time at the Roxbury during its almost decade-long reign on the Sunset Strip include Cher, John Travolta, Madonna, Tom Cruise, Prince, Sylvester Stallone, River Phoenix, Christina Applegate, Eddie Murphy, and, of all people, Geraldo Rivera.  The club was so popular that it even inspired the movie A Night at the Roxbury, although no actual filming took place on site.  And Eric Huerta, the Roxbury’s longtime bouncer, became so well-known himself that a Los Angeles Times article was written about him in November of 1993.  As usually happens with hotspots in Los Angeles, though, the Roxbury’s star began to fade and eventually closed in 1997.  Shortly thereafter, Miyagi’s, a Japanese-inspired club/restaurant, opened in its place.  I do not remember much of what Miyagi’s was like from my one visit there back in 2002, aside from the fact that the place was huge, the food was good, and, as I danced, all I could think about was that Shannen Doherty herself had one danced in the very same spot.  I was practically pinching myself all night.

    P1030952 P1030954

Miyagi’s closed its doors sometime in 2008 and was purchased by Harry Morton, owner of the Pink Taco restaurant chain and son of Hard Rock Café founder Peter Morton.  The young restaurateur immediately set about gutting the interior of the place and wound up discovering some traces of the historic Players Club in the process – including the entrance to a former underground (now sealed) tunnel that once connected the hotspot to the Chateau Marmont and was used by celebrities who wanted to escape prying eyes.  And while Pink Taco did not officially open until yesterday, a private birthday bash was held there on March 23rd in honor of Jared Eng, the blogger behind the JustJared website.  Some of the stars who attended that soiree include Fergie, Rumer Willis, Kellan Lutz, Lance Bass, Natasha Bedingfield, Seth MacFarlane, Avril Lavigne, and a few of this generation’s 90210-ers including Shenae Grimes, Jessica Stroup, and my love Matt Lanter (sigh!).

    P1030953

Thankfully, the exterior of the Sunset Boulevard hotspot hasn’t changed much over the years and despite the fact that it is now painted a bright pink (and yes, that is a whole lotta pink!), it still looks much the same as it did in the 1940s.  You can see what The Players used to look like here, Imperial Gardens here, the Roxbury here, and Miyagi’s here.  And you can check out some interior pictures of the new Pink Taco on fave website EaterLA here.

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

Stalk It: Pink Taco, aka the former site of the Roxbury, is located at 8225 West Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.  You can visit the restaurant chain’s official website here.

  • The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple

    Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-49

Another location that I stalked while my good friend Nat was in town a few weeks ago was the Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple – a ten-acre public oasis located on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades that was established by spiritual leader/Kriya Yoga guru Paramahansa Yogananda in 1950.  Because Nat is a dedicated yogi, I thought she would love visiting the site.  Little did I know how much the Grim Cheaper and I would enjoy it, too.  And while the Lake Shrine is not actually a filming location, because it is located on the site of a former movie studio, I thought my fellow stalkers might be interested in it, as well.

    [ad]

    Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-5

I first learned about the Lake Shrine Temple from Laura Randall’s fabulous book Peaceful Places Los Angeles: 100 Tranquil Sites in the City of Angels, which I gifted to the GC for Christmas a few years back.  In the tome, Randall states, “Among my collection of peaceful places, this may be the most famous one in all of Los Angeles.”  How was it possible, then, that this stalker had never before heard of it?  As it turns out, the Lake Shrine is one of Southern California’s best kept secrets.

    Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-17 Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-44

The site where the Lake Shrine Temple now sits was originally part of an 18,460-acre plot of land that made up Inceville – Hollywood’s first modern movie studio, which was established by producer Thomas Ince in Santa Ynez Canyon in 1912.  For the next four years, hundreds upon hundreds of silent western-style films were shot on the lot.  Sadly, in January 1916, a few days after Thomas had opened a second studio in Culver City, a fire ravaged Inceville, destroying numerous sets.  That fire was the first of many and, by 1922, the lot was rendered virtually useless.  In 1927, after the land had changed hands several times, a real estate developer named Alphonzo Bell, Sr. began hydraulically grading a portion of the site in the hopes of building a new residential community there.  As fate would have it, Bell ran out of money mid-excavation and walked away from the project, leaving a large vacant basin that, thanks to the many underground springs in the area, ended up filling with water.  The basin was neglected until 1940 when H. Everett “Big Mac” McElroy, an assistant superintendent of construction at 20th Century Fox studios, and his wife stepped in and purchased the ten-acre parcel.  Because construction materials were in short supply due to World War II, the couple then had their Mississippi-style houseboat, Adeline, moved to the property and they resided on it for the next few years.  That houseboat still sits on the lake to this day (pictured above).

    Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-15 Lake-Shrine-Self-Realization-Fellowship-58

Mac and his wife eventually built themselves a new residence – one that was modeled after a mill house and which featured a two-and-a-half ton, fifteen-foot working waterwheel that irrigated the land.  The mill house now serves as the Lake Shrine’s museum and gift shop.

In the late 1940s, the McElroy’s sold their enchanting lakeside oasis to an oil magnate, who promptly moved into the windmill and set about making plans to build a hotel on the premises.  According to the Lake Shrine’s official website, fate stepped in when the magnate had several dreams about his property becoming a “Church of All Religions”.  Those dreams prompted him to sell his acreage to Paramahansa Yogananda, founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship, who further landscaped the area and turned it into an open-air shrine dedicated to all religions.  Today, thousands of people each year stop by the Lake Shrine in order to meditate, pray, or simply just sit and appreciate its vast beauty.  According to Seeing Stars, not only was Elvis Presley a frequent visitor to the site, but the memorial service for former Beatle George Harrison was also held on the premises.

and, my personal favorite, turtles!  Hard to believe that all of that tranquility is situated on a busy stretch of Sunset Boulevard!  The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine is an absolutely AMAZING sanctuary that is a must-see for both visitors to the city and longtime Angelinos alike.  I honestly cannot more highly recommend stalking the place!

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

  • Late Night!

The GC and I returned home from Palm Springs very late last night due to the fact that we spent the entire day stalking a celebrity golf tournament, so I was unable to complete a blog post for today.  But I will be back tomorrow with a whole new post.

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

  • Taking the Week Off!

I will be spending the upcoming week in the Desert visiting my parents, so I will be taking the next five days off from blogging.  But I did have a fabulous pre-Oscar week during which I finally got a picture with my “unicorn”, Miss Kristin Cavallari, who, I am very happy to report, was a complete and total sweetheart!  Sigh!  LOVE her!!!  Anyway, I promise to be back next Monday (March 5th) with a whole new location.

Until next time, Happy Stalking!  Smile

  • Taking a Day Off!

The Grim Cheaper and I spent the past weekend visiting my parents in Palm Springs, so I, unfortunately, did not have time to write a new blog post for today.  But I did run into actor Jeremy London while at The Living Desert on Sunday, which was a total thrill!  He was incredibly nice and not only took off his sunglasses so that my pic with him would turn out better, but even suggested we move our position so that the sun would not shadow our faces.  Um, LOVE IT!  🙂  Anyway, I promise to be back tomorrow with a whole new location.

So until next time, Happy Stalking!  🙂
